Robin Lang, PCM Director

A Message from the Director

As both a mother of a Cleveland Institute of Music graduate and a long-time supporter of Prelude Chamber Music Camp, I am thrilled to lead the 2025–26 season as Director. My daughter, who holds both a Master’s degree and Artist Diploma from CIM, attended Prelude as a young musician and I volunteered for several years myself. Those experiences gave me firsthand insight into what a remarkable and inspiring program Prelude truly is.

Prelude Chamber Music Camp is a one-of-a-kind cultural resource. It offers young musicians the opportunity to hone their collaborative skills through chamber music and for composers of all ages to enter competitions where their works are performed. These experiences build not only musicianship, but also valuable life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Founded over 20 years ago by Jeanne Majors, Prelude continues to thrive thanks to its outstanding coaching staff, including many members of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Students not only grow as musicians, but also as people. They discover the joy and fulfillment that come from bringing great works of art to life together.

I believe deeply in the transformative power of chamber music and look forward to sharing that experience with the next generation of musicians.
