Stephanie Lindsay studied violin with Roman Totenberg at Boston University where she completed her undergraduate degree. She then performed as part of a graduate quartet in residence at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She has participated in many summer festivals including Aspen, Tanglewood, Spoleto Charleston and Kneisal Hall.
During the past twenty years, she has worked as a professional violinist – both as a teacher and a performer. She has performed as a section violinist with the Jacksonville Symphony and The Naples Philharmonic, as well as The Florida Philharmonic. She performed as Concertmaster of The National Tours of Sunset Blvd, starring Petula Clark and in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. She has performed with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Kenny Rogers, Luciano Pavoratti, Placido Domingo, Leon Fleischer and Itzhak Perlman.
She worked as a teacher at the String Academy at FAU in Boca Raton FL, Gulf Coast Music in Ft. Myers, Jacksonville Youth Symphony, Jumpstart Strings, Prelude Chamber Music Camp and many other private engagements.
Stephanie is also a trained chef. While working as a freelance violinist in New York City, she attended and graduated from The Natural Gourmet Institute’s, the leader in health supportive-culinary education, chef training program.
She loves watching the sun rise with a good cup of coffee, watching it set with her husband and a good glass of wine. She also enjoys yoga, cooking, paddle boarding, water skiing, walking, trying new restaurants, the light in the desert, chamber music, exploring new places, and traveling with her family. She is married to bass player, Jason Lindsay, and together, they have two children: Audrey 10 and James 8.
