Currently serving as instructor of cello at Jacksonville University, Shannon Lockwood recently completed the requirements for a Doctorate in Musical Arts at the University of Cincinnati, where she studied with Yehuda Hanani. She graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Denver, where she received the Presser Scholar Award. She also studied in England under a grant from the English Speaking Union and returned in the fall of 2011 to research at the Britten-Pears Library. Mrs. Lockwood’s broad spectrum of professional experiences include performing with orchestras, performing as soloist, performing and coaching chamber music, serving as a graduate assistant to the University of Cincinnati Orchestras, and maintaining a private studio.
